Training you’ll actually enjoy

Our goal is to make continuing education enjoyable, practical, refreshing, and fun. But also chock full of down to earth tips you can actually use regularly in your counseling practice.

Carolyn Ramp Consulting offers Synchronous Workshops for Core and Related Hours of Continuing Education for LPCs, LMFTs, and LCSWs in a variety of topics.

GA requires 35 hours of CEs for each 2 year licensing renewal cycle.

  • A minimum of 5 of the 35 hours must be in professional ethics and must be synchronous.

  • Of the remaining 30 hours, a minimum of 15 must be core hours and not more than 15 hours can be related hours.

  • A maximum of 10 hours may be obtained asynchronously.

  • All CE documentation must be maintained for four (4) years.

Workshop Topics

Ethics

Our ethics workshops are not the boring lecture workshops you may have attended. Instead, we offer an interactive format with attendee participation examining ethical dilemmas and determining the best solution based on the ethical codes.

Personality Disorders

Lots of workshops discuss working with the personality disordered. However, few workshops offer practical techniques to help the families of the personality disordered. Check out our workshops which focus on assisting the family members to remain in a relationship with the personality disordered while setting personal boundaries.

Clinical Supervision

Whether you are new to supervision or an experienced supervisor, you’ll find our workshops in clinical supervision very helpful. From a step by step introduction to mastering the Georgia law and rules that govern supervision, you will be given tips and tricks to keep your license safe while supervisiing.

Parenting

No one teaches us how to parent. There is no parenting manual and every child is different which challenges parents to develop techniques that are loving and logical while at the same time effective. These workshops provide parents with practical parenting techniques that WORK!

Grief

Many of us have very little training on working with grief. But grief is an ever present part of life and all of us experience loss at least once in our lives. Come learn techniques that you can share with your patients to help them develop a new normal after a loss.

Business Practices

If you are thinking about opening your own practice or just need to understand the practices of the company for whom you work, you’ll find these workshops helpful and informative. It’s no easy task to run a company. And few of us got training in business practices. These workshops help you learn the basics to get yourself rolling.

Specialty Skills

This topic covers a variety of areas in the counseling profession including tele-mental health, neuro-feedback, addiction, diversity and more.

Licensure

Staying abreast of our profession and making sure you are aware of new rules and laws takes time…something that is limited for us. Understanding the changes in the law and what the new Licensure Compact means is vital to maintaining your licensure and your practice. We can keep you informed.

Brain Based Interventions

Following the “Decade of the Brain” between 1990 and 2000, the professional world was left with a flood of new knowledge about brain function, mind health, and neurological responding to the environment at large. As it turns out, the brain is a structural entity that serves to regulate and manage internal systems, while the self is a created entity that arises from functional energy of brain activity. This “new” knowledge base has continued accruing over the past 20 years and it informs our understanding and practice of mental health.

Meet Carolyn Ramp

My experience is varied. I’ve worked with schools, agencies, clinics and in private practice. I specialize in grief, parenting, and working with the families of the personality disordered. I’ve offered supervision and workshops for over 20 years. I owned, operated and sold a multi-specialty counseling company. I have had wonderful opportunities in my life and am always willing to give a helping hand to another professional.

Private Consultation

As the owner of a large multi-specialty private practice, I learned a lot about setting up a practice, getting clinicians credentialed, running the practice, ethical obligations, and legal requirements.

As a Clinical Supervisor for over 20 years, I have also learned a lot. I stay current with the Composite Board requirements, the rule changes, and the compact we are currently working through.

If you have a practice and need consultation, or you are a Clinical Supervisor with questions and need consultation, reach out to me at crampconsulting@gmail.com and I’ll be happy to talk with you.
